Ayaida
Based in Denmark
Ayaida is a Danish-owned family business established in 2018. Aya & Ida are the names of their two daughters, and the ethos behind the brand being precisely to think about our next generations and the opportunities or limitations that will be encountered if we continue our consumption without consideration.
Ayaida believe that a more responsible lifestyle benefits everyone, all that's needed are the right products. With future generations in mind, they have developed a range of products that are as beautiful as they are balanced, using innovative materials and thoughtful practices. Combining design, functionality and elegance in products that are all connected to a mission - namely to relieve the planet from the excessive amount of plastic waste, but also to make a difference for the people who do not have the same opportunities that we often take for granted.
The Ayaida drinking bottle was made to reduce our individual CO2 footprint. Tap water is 900 times more environmentally friendly than bottled water. When a litre of water leaves the tap, only 0.0002 kg of CO2 is emitted (this includes everything from the establishment of waterworks to pumping up and transport in the pipeline network). A litre of bottled water in the supermarket has an emission of as much as 0.18 kg CO2 on the conscience - 900 times more than tap water.
'It's not just about extending the life cycle of the products orreducing waste - as consumers and creators, we truly believe that even the smallest changes can have a big impact.'
Ayaida's stainless steel products are manufactured in China in Zhejiang Province by certified partners who have implemented and maintained quality management system certifications as well as being a member of BSCI in terms of their work environment, environment and safety. With agreements in place that ensure healthy, safe, fair and responsible conditions, as well as social and environmental assessments are carried out on an ongoing basis - as well as material and product safety testing. Their aims is to shatter the myth that responsibility and "made in China" are mutually exclusive and work hard to ensure that we are responsible at every step.
Their philosophy is that a product's life cycle should be circular rather than linear; products made from natural materials can have long, functional lives and then return to where they came from rather than accumulate in a landfill. Each material they use has been carefully selected for its durability, taking less energy to produce, and made without the use of chemicals. Additionally, the 'Ayaida Foundation' is commited to donating 100 liters of clean water for every product sold, to some of the world's most vulnerable children.
