Wax Atelier

Wax Atelier was founded in 2017 by multidisciplinary designers Lola Lely and Yesenia Thibault-Picazo.

Lola was born in Hanoi and grew up in London and froma young age was curious about how objects are made. Drawing, making and the connection between materials, process and maker all becoming central to her practice.

Yesenia is a French-born musician and designer. Exploring narrative potentials of materials through collaborations with experts in the fields of geology, anthropology and craft, she uses design as a means to engage with diverse audiences on contemporary ecological challenges.

Together, as Wax Atelier, they revisit traditional techniques ranging from candle dipping and paper making, to crafted textiles using natural wax. Making being a tool to explore the interconnection between the natural world and material culture.
